Casa Loma will be transformed into a huge haunted house this fall

Visitors interested in learning about Toronto's sordid past can traipse through the Dark Side Tunnel Exhibit, an 800-foot tunnel under Casa Loma that connects the main house to the stables. The tunnel is lined with archival photographs of Toronto's "dark" years during the Prohibition, the Depression, the Plague, the Great Toronto Fire, as well as the very first plane crash in Toronto.

A founding member who stayed until 1943, he's brilliant on Casa Loma's most accomplished discs. Hutchenrider hailed from Waco, Texas, earning his bones barnstorming the Southwestern territory in the band of Jack and Charlie Teagarden. Shortly after it took ownership in 1933, the city turned Casa Loma into the tourist attraction it is today. With the Dark Side of Toronto exhibit, an antique car collection and a tour of the Queen's Own Rifles history, the castle exemplifies Toronto's history of wealth and stature.

Legends of Horror is back at Casa Loma after a year of lockdown

Casa Loma is a Gothic Revival-style mansion built at the request of financier Sir Henry Pellat. Using improper Spanish referring to "hill house" or "house on the hill," he commissioned architect E. J. Lennox to design Casa Loma in 1911. It took three years, 299 workers, and $3.5 million to create this architectural masterpiece.
